International sales and service centre
Having been successful in our home market it was decided to expand our activities to a wider customer base. With the acquisition of the Binder group in 1997 by Schuttersveld N.V (now Kendrion N.V), we were given the new role of "International Sales & Service Centre" for the whole Kendrion Electro-Magnetics Group.
This gave us a larger scope to supply, not only our traditional products (Brakes & Clutches), but also Holding Magnets, Solenoids and Vibratory Magnets. We are currently supplying our products and expertise into over 100 countries and we are constantly looking to expand especially into the emerging economies such as China, Brazil, India and Russia and also Eastern Europe including Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovak Republic and Ukraine.
The traditional brand "Binder" was the origin of a very successful development of the business unit Industrial Drive Systems. In 1911 the young Wilhelm Binder founded his first company. In the early 1920s he began to develop and manufacture electromagnetic components, such as safety solenoids, solenoid drums, clamping devices, and shift-lock solenoids. The product range was steadily expanded, and production plants were continuously enlarged.
In 1953, the first appearance at the “Hannover Fair” helped to gain international recognition. Over the years, more than 100 patents and utility models were registered. In 1997, the company was sold to Schuttersveld N.V. in the Netherlands – today known as Kendrion N. V.
Since then Kendrion Industrial Drive Systems continuously enlarges its global recognition and acts as a solution provider for electromagnetic brakes.
